Photographing a wedding at The French Farmhouse Venue

Indoors, the light is our job rather than the sun's. We light the ceremony and the dance floor with intention — enough to see faces, never enough to notice — and we find the best daylight nearby for the portraits.

Dallas weddings tend to be big-hearted: large families, long toasts, dance floors that do not want to close. We cover the formals efficiently so there is time for portraits in the last light, then stay with the party until the exit. If we have not worked The French Farmhouse Venue yet we visit it before your day — light, timing, logistics — so nothing about the venue is a surprise on the morning of.

At The French Farmhouse Venue the sun sets at 8:39 PM in June and 6:54 PM in October, with golden hour opening around 8:02 PM on a June evening and 7:01 PM in late September. Start a summer ceremony near 5:54 PM and you will still have the good light for portraits; in autumn move it an hour earlier. The full month-by-month table is on our Dallas page.
